Hello and welcome to Christ the King Catholic School. My name is Rachael Chatham, the Principal, and on behalf of our faculty and staff, it is a pleasure to greet you as partners in your child's educational experience. Our highly qualified professional and dedicated teachers are truly committed to providing your child with the best education in a faith-filled, family-oriented environment. One of the greatest gifts God has given to us is the children and we at CTK promise to value, respect, and mentor your child. Together we can make the difference and help build the bridge to success.
      Here at CTK we offer our students a full academic program that encompasses Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade. In addition, we have educators who teach and enhance learning in music, technology, physical education, and Spanish. Our school counselor provides important lessons in social and behavioral growth and oversees our school-wide Peer Mediation program. We are deeply committed to advancing the technological opportunities that enhance and accelerate the teaching and learning process.  “The Center for Excellence in Learning” is our newly dedicated space, which provides hands-on and performance-based learning.  In the science lab, through the use of digital microscopes and computer generated software, students engage in investigative discoveries.  Students learn the fundamentals of videography, graphic art, podcasts, research and much more as they explore the possibilities in the technology center.  What greater fun for students to experience than the chance to produce their own movie!  In the broadcast studio students learn about filmmaking and suddenly, that not so enticing book report, now becomes a work of art.  Learning becomes exciting, exhilarating and experiential. During the summer of 2007 we installed SMART Boards in every classroom thus providing additional opportunities to WOW the students through interactive learning.
      As our partners, you are also a vital part of your child’s education. I strongly encourage you to read to and with your children, regardless of their age, as this is one of the best ways to foster their love of reading while building their skills. Christ the King is your school. I want you to feel that you are an integral part of this learning community. Everyone who is a member of this community: Father Brian, teachers, parents, staff, administrators, instructional assistants, the custodians, and of course the students, is actively engaged in learning and growing as an individual. We encourage and learn from each other while solving meaningful problems, whether it’s in mathematics or social relations. We know that learning together and from one another is one of the most powerful ways to learn, and it also builds relationships and community.

Get involved! The more you get involved, the more you and your child will benefit from school. I strongly encourage you to join the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and to volunteer. Please contact your classroom teacher or call the school for more information on ways to participate.
